The Giver: How I Think it Ended

The Giver Ending
The ending to the book "The Giver", is very good, and interesting.  People have wondered about what really happened, and even in certain interviews with the author, Lois Lowry.
At <http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/article/lois-lowry-interview-transcript>  A child asks this: My teachers argue over the ending of The Giver! How does it really end?
Lois replies:  It ends with Jonas and Gabriel going downhill in a sled toward a house with welcoming lights. Ho ho ho. Aren't I a mean author, not to be more specific? I like it when you argue. It makes you think.
Since she said this, this makes me think two things: She is a very mean and evil person who likes to watch people argue and destroy each other over something; She is very curious in what her readers think about her book, and what their interpretation of the ending of her books are.
She also says at <http://www.randomhouse.com/teachers/guides/give.html> she says how she likes to think on the bright side, while others say that the two run away's froze to death, she likes to think that the two had made it to a different type of community, where no one was brainwashed, and everything was perfectly normal, in human nature.
My opinion on how The Giver ended is simple.  I believe that the Gabe and Jonas had made it down the hill, on their sled, at the brink of freezing to death, and starvation, but, they enter what Jonas knows as the regular, human colony.  But, in another opinion, I believe that they survived, but made it to Narnia!  There, they went on mystical conquests for the queens and kings, and the big lion, soon to destroy the ice queen, with the three kids in the "Chronicles of Narnia" books.

For the ROGATE 20% project, I am going to take a couple of surveys relating to music, and different genres of music like rock, pop, classical, country, etc.  In the end I will see what kind of music most people like these days (I'm expecting pop to win.)

Ads influencing teens

This past unit in ROGATE, we were learning about how advertising influences teens and their cultures. This is a very true statement, because even if we don't realize it, when we watch TV we are being influenced by ads, shows, commercials  etc.  Advertisement really makes the world of fashion go round.  When teens see something that looks really cool, they would want to wear it, than more people will wear it, than a fashion trend will begin.
"Teens watch far more television than they did in the early days of TV." Says one news article that talks about how teens and children are influenced by television ads.  "In addition, they are online (via computer or smart phone) where advertising is relevant as well."  This article clearly shows how advertising is pretty much every where.  Every where you go you will see ads, watching television, online, at the mall, in restaurants, etc., etc.!
One of the most influencing types of advertisements are video game ads (for the guys) and clothing ads (for the girls).  This is not proven by facts but merely by my opinion by observing people in school, and my own behavior to these type of products.  Even when teens are mostly influenced by these genres, children could be influenced by other products like dolls, action figures, and other kid like toys.
This past unit of ROGATE was a fun one, being able to learn what really influenced teens, and people like us, on what we wear, say, and do.  These things that influence us is advertisements, or ads for short.  These ads can show anything to video games, sports, and even PSA's.  These ads, are what really influences teens, children, and pretty much everyone around the world.

This year, I learned that it was quite easier to make new friends and meet new people in middle school than I had expected.  I also learned that no one can replace the three stooges when i watched the new movie. My new years resolution is to not beat up my brother as much.

This past week in school, I took the sample verison of 2 tests made by Anthony Gregoric and Howard Gardner.  The 2 tests were samples beacause to take the real ones you would have to go to a phycologist.  These 2 tests tought me the ways that I learn in school and what I'm like.  On the
Gregoric test, I tuned out to be CR (Concrete Random) which means I am independent, creative, Curious, Inventive, and others as well.  On the Gardner test, my learning type is logical/mathematical.

Three people I admire are my Dad, my Mom, and my brother Jake.  It is tough to think about how they learn and what they are like (they would know for sure.)  I think my brother is also CR (creative, independent, etc.) I think he learns musicaly.  I think my Mom is CS (Concrete Sequental) which means she is ordered, accurate, exact, and more.  I think she learns linguistcaly.  Finnaly, I think my Dad is also CS, which makes him ordered structered, etc.

This is my first blog post.  I warn you, I don't know how the heck to do ANYTHING on this web site, so all speicial effects and videos and stuff will be saved for later on in the school year.

Any way, my name is Alek Fryc, and i go to Northern Burlington Middle school, in New Jersey.
And no we people from New Jersey don't ALL sound like the cast from Jersey shore, we sound like regular people in the U.S. (An exception to some people who do sound like the people from the Jersey Shore cast, in which they have a bad education, or they are just Jersey Shore super fans and decide to talk like that on purpose.)

I live in Chesterfield, NJ, a small town that is near the Bordentown, NJ.  My Father's family half of the family comes from Poland, located in Europe.  My Grandmother and Grandfather both came from Poland during the end of WWII(World War Two) and came to America for a better life (as most people from Europe did back then.

The best trait that my Grandmother has from Poland is probably her cooking. If you've never heard of pierogi's (the best food from Poland that has ever been created EVER!) then click this link (if it works that is) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierogi.

Out of all the subjects in school I like, I like art the most. I like art because I like to be creative, and drawing.

Well, this is the end to my first post, hopefully my future post's will be with more detailed things in it.
